What is Void Cancel?
This glitch allows you to bypass the fall limit that respawns you on the ground. You will be able to cover great vertical and horizontal distances in the air. This state resists everything, even rebooting the game. It seems stuck to the save file and you'll have to continue without ever voiding again... Just be careful not to fall for too long, you'll get a "fatal error" crash. As said, even after restarting the game the glitch will remain active. Enjoy
This glitch is performed while the Cutscene Skip is active.
How to do:
- Make sure the Cutscene Skip is active by going back to the checkpoint. If you are getting teleported to the normal hard checkpoint, then it is not active. You should respawn right where you were (even in the air).
- Simply fall into the void, when your character freezes and starts to get damaged, go back to the main menu by mashing and keep mashing to instantly continue the game.
- You should get teleported back to the last surface you walked on. If you try to fall again, you should now be immune.
Note: This glitch isn’t fully understood yet and can fail we don’t know why.
Warning: If you do it wrong, you can have:
• The "create a new save" popup
• The option menu popup (If so, you can just Alt+F4, there is nothing to do)
Another way to cancel the void/respawn when falling. It's not adapted to speedrun on the demo yet, but from this could come crazy stuff... Here's a first setup but feel free to improvise around this method, it might be easier to do, somehow:
How to do:
- Lose almost all HP (faster in Hard difficulty).
- Fall to your death.
- Pause buffer to aim the first frames of the death animation (you take the last hit just after being respawned). You may struggle to force the start menu after the respawn, press resume like I do in the clip.
- Sometimes the controller is vibrating on this frame and continuously goes on when you're on the pause menu - but it doesn't seem mandatory, that's just a good sign.
- Go back to the main menu by mashing to quickly continue.
- You should be back with the ability to fall forever.
